"From the «Young Poland» Period
to the Present Day"
W ramach I Mi^dzynarodowego Biennale Pla-
katu Muzeum Narodowe w Warszawie zor-
ganizowato wystaw^ retrospektywna polskiego
plakatu, zatytufowan^ „Od Mtodej Polski do na
szych dni". Byta to pierwsza wystawa pokazuj^ca
rozwój polskiego plakatu od roku 1897 do roku
1963. Urz^dzona zostafa ze zbiorów Muzeum Na-
rodowego (dziat plakatu w Wilanowie), muzeów
czechostowackich i radzieckich oraz ze zbiorów
Akademii Sztuk Pi^knych w Warszawie. Wysta-
wiono 468 prac, które pozwolily zorientowac si^,
jak wiele wspótczesni polscy twórcy plakatu za-
wdzi^czaj^ swym poprzednikom.
As part of the First International Poster Biennale,
the National Museum,in Warsaw held a retro
spective exhibition of Polish posters, entitled
"From the Young Poland Period to the Present
Day". This was the first exhibition presenting
Polish poster design from 1897 to 1963. It was
compiled from collections of the National
Museum in Warsaw (posters section in Wilanów
Palace), Czechoslovak and Soviet museums and
the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. The 468 works
on show made it possible to see how great a debt
the present day Polish poster owes to its pre
cursors.
