This is the Pegasus type, 16 point, also designed by Berthold Wolpe for The Monotype Corporation Limited: AaBbCcDdEeFfGgHhliJjKkLl MmNnOoPpQqRrSsTtUu Vv WwXxYyZz 12345 &Ó7890 Series 508 Types for Monotype and Fanfare; and letter-forms for youth for Tempest is a vigorous and sound design. In addition to these typographical commissions Wolpe has worked for the Limited Editions Club, the Corvinus Press, the Guyon House Press and several advertising agencies. His work has always that unerring sureness of the true craftsman seen in his type designs. Type, type ornaments, borders, vignettes, book decorations can be included under the general heading of graphic art," but Wolpe's interests extend beyond these limits. On another occasion I shall hope to deal with his designs in metal, which are equally impressive, both as an estimate of Wolpe's worth in any community, and as a yet further indictment of any system of political ideology which can find no place in its theories for the work of a man who happens to believe in his religion as well as his country.
