It might have been this seasonal wave of over-interest which inspired Réné Treumann to develop his ideas for the printing of material to be used on festive occasions. Type-high material, a small printing press, colored paper and the craftsmanship of Treumann make the most fascinating material for marriage, parties, birthday and other happy occasions. But our era is shaking under demonstrations, meet ings and semi-revolutions. Treumann would not be a true artist if he did not support these manifestations through his talent and crafts manship. Many posters for demonstrations and student meetings were designed and printed by him. Educated in an atmosphere influenced by the friendship between Brusse, Sandberg and his parents it is not surprising that the use of typographic material predom inates in the designs of Treumann. There are, however, not many influences detectable of his father the famous Dutch designer Otto jrom "With Love 55
