Swiss publicity and design, as might be expected, clearly reflect the chief industries and activities of the country, the import of tourists and the export of dairy produce. It follows that publicity in both these fields is mainly prepared for issue outside the country. Within the country, it is interest ing to observe the vigorous campaign for increasing the use of the telephone. Characteristic of Swiss posters is the use of first-class photography.
